I'm trying to get some information on which of the medical alert companies might be good?
February 26, 2011 – 6:59 am -The ones where you press a button on a pendant to connect to 911 after a fall.
I’ve tried Consumer Reports and they have very little on them.
I got a list from 2003 and almost all of them had gone out of business. I’m looking for one likely to stay in business.
I have a bunch of current companies, but they all seem the same most ways. I don’t know which is likely to give good service and stick around and I can’t ask them that.

easy reading hw. **best answer**?
December 9, 2010 – 6:58 am -Often you can tell the meaning of a word from its context–the words
around it. Find the word in the paragraph that means:
coach; tutor; trusted advisor
Conductor Zubin Mehta was rehearsing the Philadelphia Orchestra
at the Mann Music Center in the summer of 1983 when a slip of a girl with
large eyeglasses and a Buster Brown haircut stepped from the wings, walked
to the edge of the stage, and peered into the nearly empty audience.
Midori Goto, the eleven-year-old violinist slated to be that night’s
surprise soloist, was searching for her mentor, Dorothy De Lay, the
woman who in more than three decades with the Juilliard School has
nurtured many extraordinary young musicians to world renown. Having
ascertained that De Lay’s motherly figure was indeed in attendance,
Midor disappeared backstage to fetch her violin. Moments later she bowed
shyly to the orchestry, then stood somewhat awkwardly, in shiny patent
leathers and polka-dot socks, staring down at the tip of her pendant bow
as she waited for her cue in Paganini’s First Violin concerto. When it
came, she raised her violin and deftly touched bow to strings.
Often you can tell the meaning of a word from its context–the words
around it. Find the word in the paragraph that means:
perfect; complete
That evening, while Midoro communicated intricate musical complex-
ities with consummate ease, Mehta and the orchestra gazed at her, their
faces softened by admiration. At the conclusion of her performance,
the audience rose to their feet as one. During the thunderous applause
that followed, someone handed Midori a bouquet of roses, and struggling
to hold both flowers and violin against her tiny body, she exited the
stage. Four times the audience called her back with cheers of "bravo,"
yet the following day there was no mention of her triumph in the newspapers.
Often you can tell the meaning of a word from its context–the words
around it. Find the word in the paragraph that means:
watchful; always on the alert
In another era, it might have seemed inappropriate for an astonish-
ing youngster of more than simply adult abilities to go unremarked. In
the 1980’s, however, bringing a child genius before the public is considered
a delicate matter, for present guardians of the gifted have grown wary of
the public’s appetite for sideshows. Even the word prodigy has fallen on
hard times.
Often you can tell the meaning of a word from its context–the words
around it. Find the word in the paragraph that means:
covered, as if with a cloak
The hoopla that surrounded such child wonders as Jascha Heifetz
at the turn of the century, the national fame that mantled the Quiz Kids
in the 1940’s, is studiously avoided. Didn’t Quiz Kid Gerard Darrow,
who appeared on the cover of Life at age nine, end up an alcoholic?
Didn’t William James Sidis, a celebrated mathematics prodigy who entered
Harvard at age eleven, spend the bulk of his adult years doing nothing
more challenging than collecting streetcar transfers from all over the
world?
Often you can tell the meaning of a word from its context–the words
around it. Find the word in the paragraph that means:
beginning; becoming apparent
Recent research suggests that there is no single cause of prodig-
iousness, that neither high IQ nor accomplished ancestry can reliably
predict it. In his book Beyond Universals in Cognitive Development, David
Henry Feldman states that a prodigy emerges because of a "coincidence."
In addition to being born with an unusual talent, an incipient prodigy,
Feldman claims, muist be born in the right place at the right time.
If home isn’t nurturing, if society doesn’t value the gift, if appropriate
education isn’t available, potential won’t be realized.
